Carla Springer, 28, ekes out a living on her ranch by training reining horses and barrel racing riders. Tall, lean and taciturn, Carla has successfully shielded herself from meaningful human contact after an abusive upbringing and a divorce. But the unexpected arrival of her 6 year-old niece who clearly needs her help, followed shortly by the reappearance of her felonious ex-husband, and the pressures on her carefully constructed world exacerbated by a government with plans to expropriate her ranch, all force Carla to face her past and take drastic measures to save that which is most precious.
Shot on location in central British Columbia’s cinematically stunning desert region, Rain Downfeatures Jessica Hill in the break-out role of ‘Carla Springer’ and experienced child actor, Daisy Lippa, as her niece ‘Willow Light.’ Melanie Bray gives a heart-breaking performance as Willow’s mother ‘Barbara Light’ and the award-winning Stuart Pierre, a Katzie Nation native, plays her explosive boyfriend ‘Craig Becerra.’ Timothy Mossey as Carla’s roguish ex-husband, ‘Darren Crosbie,’ rounds out the lead performers.

RAIN DOWN SIGNS DISTRIBUTION DEAL

Rain Down Pictures Inc. is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement for distribution rights to the feature film RAIN DOWN. Pacific Northwest Pictures of Vancouver, BC will distribute in Canada and Myriad Pictures Inc. of Los Angeles, CA will take RAIN DOWN to the U.S. market and rest of the world.
This agreement has been the subject of intense negotiations since October of 2010 involving several parties including ourselves, our Producer’s Reps at Ostrow and Company, Pacific Northwest Pictures, Myriad Pictures and Telefilm Canada. That we have now signed the agreement signals our confidence that we have negotiated the best deal possible and that we have placed RAIN DOWN with Distributors who have the ability and the will to get it to the marketplace.
RAIN DOWN will be showcased by Myriad Pictures at MIP TV, the world's entertainment market held in Cannes, France from April 4 - 7, 2011.
